Your PDF stays on your device.

Folio performs PDF editing in your browser. Opening a document does not upload it to a Folio document server.

Documents and signatures

The editor keeps your open PDF, form values, annotations and signature images in memory in the current tab. These are used locally to render and update the document. Downloads are created by your browser. Closing or refreshing the tab discards its working copy, so download your edits first.

Website requests

Your browser contacts this website to load its pages, scripts, fonts and optional text-recognition assets. Those requests do not include the contents of your PDF. Like other hosting services, the website’s hosting provider may process connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to serve and protect the site.

Accounts and tracking

Folio does not require an account. Folio uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits and website performance without analytics cookies. These statistics do not include your PDF contents, filenames, form values or signatures. The editor does not include advertising scripts or an online document library. It does not store your documents in browser local storage. The OCR library may cache its English language data on your device; that language data is not your document.

Fonts and open source

Additional fonts are hosted with the editor and loaded when needed. Folio uses open-source software, including MuPDF and Tesseract. You can download the application source and read its third-party notices and licence.

Your downloaded files

Downloaded files are saved according to your browser’s settings and remain on your device until you remove them. Folio does not send them to anyone. Choose your own sharing method when you are ready.
