Classic NetCDF reader: Folio, implemented from Unidata's published specification:

Supports CDF-1 and CDF-2. CDF-5 is explicitly rejected.

Folio's application code uses the licence in /LICENSE.txt.
Synthetic sample datasets were generated for Folio. They are illustrative, not observations.
