How to merge and reorder PDF pages online

Put a cover sheet, a report and an appendix into one PDF. Folio can append pages from other PDFs or images, then help you arrange the combined document.

Combine files into one PDF

  1. Open the PDF that should come first.
  2. Choose Add files below the page thumbnails. Select the PDFs, JPGs or PNGs you want to append.
  3. Review the import notice and choose Add pages. The selected files are added at the end.
  4. Check the page count and inspect the imported pages.
  5. Download the combined document with a descriptive filename.

Put pages in the right order

On a larger screen, drag a page thumbnail to a different position in the thumbnail list. The Organise pages tool also provides Move earlier and Move later buttons, plus an All pages list. These controls are useful on phones, where the thumbnail sidebar is hidden.

For example, open the report first, append a cover sheet, then move the cover sheet to the beginning. Use Undo if a page lands in the wrong place.

Rotate, remove or extract pages

Choose Organise pages to rotate a sideways scan, duplicate a page or delete an unwanted page. Folio keeps at least one page in the working document. Use Extract to download a selection without removing it from the current document.

Page ranges can be entered as 1, 3-5 or all. The split option saves selected pages as individual PDFs in a ZIP file. Check the range before downloading so the recipient gets the intended pages.

What happens to forms and comments?

Imported pages retain the visible appearance of their annotations and filled form fields, but those imported items become fixed page content. Fields already in the original working PDF stay editable. Duplicating a page also fixes that copy’s annotations and form values in place.

For an imported form that still needs filling, fill it in its original PDF first and save it before merging. If you need to preserve all interactive fields across multiple source PDFs, this import workflow may not suit your document.

Large or password-protected files

Files are processed on your device, so available memory affects the size of documents you can work with. If a source PDF is password-protected, open it with its password and download an unlocked working copy before merging. Save your result before closing the browser tab.
