About this viewer & supported formats

Supported files: HDF5, including HDF5-based NetCDF-4, plus NetCDF classic (CDF-1) and 64-bit offset (CDF-2). Browse groups, attributes, numerical arrays, text and compound records. HDF4, NetCDF CDF-5, external files and extra HDF5 compression plugins are not supported. Standard gzip/deflate, shuffle, Fletcher32 and scale-offset filters are supported.

Reading large files: local files are accessed in pieces, without uploading or copying the whole file into memory. Previews contain up to 65,536 values, with automatic sampling for large dimensions. Very large compressed chunks can still need substantial memory. Cancel or close a file to release its reader. Classic NetCDF headers are limited to 16 MB.

Interpreting data: decoding uses explicit fill/missing values, valid ranges, scale_factor, add_offset and supported _Unsigned attributes. NetCDF default fill values are recognised for classic files and NetCDF-4 files carrying _NCProperties. Time coordinates remain numeric with their original units; calendars, map projections, derived physical quantities and specialised conventions are not interpreted. Axis coordinates are used when one-dimensional dimension scales are available. Attribute previews are limited to 256 attributes and 256 items per array; very large attributes are omitted. Long text and nested record previews are bounded. Large 64-bit integers retain their exact text and are not plotted. Statistics describe the selected sample only.

Exports: CSV exports the selected values and row/column indices; metadata JSON records the full slice bounds and fixed indices. PNG exports the current plot. This is a read-only viewer; your original file is never changed.
